Naval Damage Control 2017

Naval Damage Control is a community gathering for naval, civilian and industry stakeholders. Navies across the world are now increasingly reliant on automated systems to detect and mitigate the damage caused by onboard emergencies.

This year’s Naval Damage Control will focus on how the growing automation of ships is affecting damage control what this means for crew training, response and procedures when an incident occurs. The meeting will also examine what the increased use of automated systems means from a procurement position for industry, government agencies and navies.

With less crew onboard and more reliance on automation, the meeting will provide industry and end users to discuss the very latest innovative, safe and reliable solutions.

The pre-event Fire Focus Day will discuss fire suppression systems and requirements, onboard fire response strategies and passive fire protection.

Key topics of the main two-day meeting will include:

  • Automation vs Lean Manning
  • Human Factors
  • Integrated Platform Management Systems
  • Unconventional Threats
  • Subsurface Damage Control
  • Hazardous Materials
  • Future Development of Damage Control Capabilities
