DSEI 2017: Military vehicle camera widens field of view

The TRAILBLAZER HD-SDI and Generic Vehicle Architecture (GVA) compliant military driver vision aid will be the centrepoint of RFEL’s stand at DSEI 2017. It improves driver and crew effectiveness by extending the field of view beyond the normal spectrum, even in adverse weather and low-light conditions.

Channeliser IP supports up to 16 wideband inputs

The latest significant release of its advanced FPGA-based channeliser IP – ChannelCore Flex - was featured by RFEL at EW Europe. This latest enhancement offers support for up to 16 wideband inputs, each capable of processing several GHz of bandwidth. With arbitrary input parallelism, theoretically, the input bandwidth of each input is unlimited.

Two HALO Rapid Prototype Development Systems supplied in UK

Supplying the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL), RFEL has developed two HALO Rapid Prototype Development Systems (RPDS). These systems will be used by DSTL to evaluate RFEL's and third party video processing algorithms for real time video trials and to support interactive demonstrations to military users.

RFEL supplies HyperSpeed FFT IP core to Arizona Radio Observatory

RFEL is supplying one of its HyperSpeed FFT IP cores to the Arizona Radio Observatory (ARO) at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. They are developing a high performance radio astronomy spectrometer system where RFEL's core forms a key component to improve sideband separation in their heterodyne receivers. To support the receiver's wide signal bandwidth, the core utilises parallelism to operate at a high input data rate of over 10GS/s.

University of Oxford & RFEL sign contract for SKA project

The University of Oxford has signed the second phase of a study contract with RFEL. The University, which is a member of the Low Frequency Aperture Array consortium, is working with the SKA (Square Kilometre Array) Organisation to build the world's largest radio telescope. The contract with RFEL focuses on the design of an FPGA-based signal processing architecture for beam forming functions in the antenna processing hardware.
