Automotive Robotic Industry Limited (ARI) has selected Elsight to provide the Communications on the Move (COTM) technology for its advanced, mission-oriented autonomous and collaborative Unmanned Ground Vehicles (UGV) for military and security situations. The initial order will equip ten of its vehicles with highly secure, two-way communications.

Elsight delivers comprehensive transmission and delivery solutions for the 'Age of Connectivity', ensuring military-grade, secured and continuous two-way audio, video, and data transmissions from remote locations over advanced bonding technology at the highest quality and widest bandwidth.

Automotive Robotic Industry UGV’s mission-oriented, land and water amphibian armed vehicles perform routine patrols, securing the perimeter mission-critical infrastructure, such as airports, military installations, power stations, as well as national borders - where efficient, high quality continuous video transmission is key. ARI's armed vehicles are operating in highly isolated and restricted areas where people are not allowed.

Automotive Robotic Industry will use Elsight devices to deliver real time, two-way secure video and data communications enabling real time decision-making via live video and audio connectivity from the field to HQ or command centres.

The Elsight-ARI activities will demonstrate to the autonomous vehicle industry the imperative and possibilities for real time communications. Elsight's two-way data communications maximise vehicular control, reducing risk, while the high security prevents possible cyber attacks.

Millisecond transmission rates deliver complete control from the remote locations to where the UGVs will be patrolling. In case of incidents, real time video with simultaneous recording allows for immediate reaction and later forensics analysis.

"Elsight technology is a natural fit with our autonomous UGVs," said Ronen Fishman, CEO of Automotive Robotic Industry. "Both have been proven to operate in mission-critical environments with no point of failure, while ensuring complete safety and security. Our autonomous vehicle has zero tolerance for any break in communication or take over by a hacker. Elsight provides us with the capabilities to meet these challenges."

Elsight's units simultaneously transmit 3G/4G LTE/5G, with failover to satellite, ensuring unbroken connectivity at high bandwidths with complete redundancy. Multichannel encrypted transmission ensures complete security: data is split into multiple pieces, based on number of channels, and each segment is encrypted up to 256 bits, locked into a VPN tunnel, and transmitted via aggregated GSM channels. Even if one or two pieces of data has been hacked, the hacked data is incomplete and useless as it’s still impossible to get the full picture.

"Elsight has a strong tradition in delivering highly secure information in situations where lives can be hanging in the balance," said Nir Gabay, Elsight CEO. "After many deployments in regular emergency vehicles, it's a logical next step for our technology to be integrated into autonomous vehicles. The advantages of the Amstaf UGV amphibian military machinery over traditional car manufacturing are two-fold: their sales and implementations are happening now - as opposed to a few years down the road - and they require the highest military standards and demands, which are our ‘bread and butter.’"
