Marvin Test Solutions has announced that its MTS-3060 SmartCan Universal O-Level Test Set has been selected by the Israeli Air Force to support all of the armament systems on F-16 and F-15 aircraft. The contract includes test sets for F-16 and F-15 as well as spares and training, and is scheduled for completion in 2018.

The, “I.A.F. has selected the MTS-3060 SmartCan from Marvin Test Solutions as a universal flightline armament test set for F-16 and F-15 because of its robust test capabilities,” said I.A.F. Major Dror Hadar. “With the MTS-3060, I.A.F. can replace several obsolete test sets with a single test solution that is smaller, easier to use, and still provides more test capabilities than all the obsolete test sets it replaces.”

“The MTS-3060 SmartCan was designed to support a broad range of aircraft platforms and armament systems, increasing performance and readiness levels, reducing the physical footprint, and simplifying logistics,” said Major General Stephen T. Sargeant, USAF (Ret.), CEO of Marvin Test Solutions. “We are gratified that the I.A.F. has selected our SmartCan as their next generation armament test set and we look forward to working with their team on the deployment of the SmartCan on the F-16 and F-15 aircraft, and expanding its use to additional I.A.F. aircraft platforms in the future.”

Flightline test in the palm of your hand
The hand-held MTS-3060 SmartCan is a universal O-Level armament test set capable of testing both legacy and 'smart', MIL-STD-1760-based, weapons systems. The SmartCan supports multiple aircrafts and armament systems in a single hand-held unit, allowing maintainers to benefit from a common test set for multiple systems. The advanced capabilities of the MTS-3060 enable it to bridge the Armament Test Gap that exists on legacy and fifth-gen platforms. The MTS-3060 is already deployed in ten countries on multiple platforms and in multiple configurations, and is also used by the US Air Force as a smart weapon simulator for JDAM and AMRAAM.
