Marvin Test Solutions has announced that it has successfully completed deliveries of (115) MTS-3060A SmartCan Universal O-Level Armament Test Sets to the Israeli Air Force (IAF), ahead of schedule.

The rugged MTS-3060A SmartCan is the most advanced flightline hand-held test set available, capable of testing all Alternate Mission Equipment (AME) and Aircraft Armament Equipment (AAE) including pylons, launchers, bomb racks, and pods. Addressing an armament test gap that exists across legacy 4th and 5th generation aircraft equipped with Smart weapon technology (MIL-STD-1760), the MTS-3060A enables support for any aircraft and any Smart or legacy armament system.

The IAF selected SmartCan to improve the speed and ease of armament test for maintainers, and to enhance support capabilities for the F-15 and F-16 aircraft. In addition, the Smartcan enabled the IAF to replace multiple obsolete test sets with a single hand-held, consolidated solution. The SmartCan’s ability to support multiple aircraft and Operational Flight Profiles (OFPs) streamlines logistics, optimises support across the aircraft fleet, and standardises training.

“We are pleased to support one of the US’ closest allies with a proven universal flightline test solution that greatly improves warfighter effectiveness,” said Major General Stephen T. Sargeant, USAF (Ret.), CEO of Marvin Test Solutions. “Continuing to gain acceptance worldwide, the SmartCan reduces the time and number of maintainers required to perform all armament testing, including the critical MIL-STD-1760 functionality test required to ensure successful Smart munitons employment, while reducing logistics and training needs. Furthermore, The SmartCan provides customers the most cyber secure, hand-held O-Level armament test set available.”

Incorporating advanced measurement capabilities to support new and Smart munitions and armament, the MTS-3060A has the capacity to grow as new and more complex weapon systems are added to the inventory.

The SmartCan is currently deployed in over 12 countries on multiple aircraft and utilised by the US Air Force Test Pilot School as a Smart weapons simulator for JDAM and AMRAAM.
